“I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me. As an artist, a musician, a dancer, and a human being trying to make her way in this world”.
That was how Madonna, the American born singer, song writer, actress, business woman, producer, dancer, film director, author and philanthropist, summarized her forthcoming biopic.
She announced to her 15.5 million Instagram followers that she is currently working on a movie that will dramatize her life. But music will be the main theme of the movie.
” The focus of the film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me? It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision,” she said.
She made this announcement in early August of 2020 when she posted several pictures depicting that fact.
In a Q&A with her fans, the septuagenarian disclosed that the biopic will depict a range of events in her life’s journey. Some of them are her “struggle as an artist trying to survive in a man’s world.” A range of emotions such as ” happy, sad, mad, crazy, good, bad and ugly. Her relationship with Jean Michel Basquait, who is an artist, etc.
The director of the award winning 2007 movie “Juno Fame”, Diablo Cody, will be working with the Pop star on the project.
Universal Pictures Role
Universal pictures will be overseeing the project. Donna Langley, chairman; Amy Pascal, producer, Senior executive producers, Sara Zambreno and Guy Oseary are all excited about the project.

Producer Amy Pascal equally shared her excitement about the project. ” I have known Madonna since we made ‘A League of Their Own‘ together. And I can’t imagine anything more thrilling than collaborating with her and Diablo on bringing her true life story to the big screen…….”
The yet-to-be-named movie will be the Pop star’s third movie she directed. “Filth and Wisdom” in 2008 and “WE” in 2011 are the other two she directed.
The movie is yet to be named. The actors to feature in the biopic, budget and production timeline are also not yet known.
Madonna has achieved a lot in the five decades of her musical career. She started her musical career in the eighties and she shows no sign of slowing down.
The University of Michigan drop out featured in a Golden globe wining effort in 1996, titled “Evita”.
The pop diva became the first woman to appear on a Forbes cover. According to Forbes, in 2019, she is number 39 on America’s Self made Woman’s list.
Madonna’s current net worth is $850 million.
She is the best selling female musician in history with 335 million records sold. In 2008, she was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
