The movie ‘Citation’, officially released November 6th, now tops movie chart on Netflix.
Citation was shot in three countries ; Nigeria, Senegal and Cape Verde.
English, Yoruba, French and Wolof were the languages used in the movie produced and directed by Nollywood’s Kunle Afolayan.
The movie, which is based on a true life story was written by Tunde Babalola. It portrays the ills of sexual harassment in tertiary institutions.
It is now streaming only on Netflix and starred great personalities like Temi Otedola, daughter of oil magnate Femi Otedola.
The cast include Bukunmi Oluwasina, Chairman of First Bank of Nigeria, Jimmy Jean- Louis, a Hollywood actor amongst others. Ini Edo, Sadiq Daba, Gabriel Afolayan, Joke Silva are also featured.
Citation happens to be Temi Otedola’s debut movie. She said in Nolllywood uncut’s interview on Channels TV that she is happy that her dream of becoming an actor is finally coming through. Temi is sister to Nigerian prolific Disc jockey and musician, Dj Cuppy.
Before the movie ‘Citation’, Temi’s acting experience was in a number of schools plays in high school.
Meanwhile, Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria is equally excited about the movie. “The producers were professional and discreet,” she said in an interview with Nollywood Uncut on Channels Tv.
She noted that the condition given to producers before accepting her role in the movie was total secrecy of her involvement until its release.
Being the number one movie on Netflix is a huge plus to the producers and the Nigerian movie industry.
