Nigerian songwriter and R&B singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Ms. Tems lashed out at BebeCool, a Ugandan artiste on her Twitter page recently. Ms. Tems accused Bebe Cool of ratting on her and a fellow Nigerian artiste, Omay Lay to the Ugandan police in Kampala.
Both artists were arrested in Kampala, Uganda for violating COVID-19 protocol in the country. Ms. Tems and her fellow Nigerian artiste performed at Ddungu Resort in Kampala.
Charges against them were dropped and they were released. They have already returned to Nigeria.
On arrival, Ms. Tems thanked Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri for her role in securing their release and return to Nigeria. She equally thanked her fans and fellow artists who drummed up support for her release.
A day after she arrived, she took to her Twitter account, @temsbaby, and engaged Bebe Cool in a war of words, accusing him of orchestrating her arrest as well as Omay Lay’s. She further accused him of pretending to have assisted in securing her release.
“@BebeCoolUG I know you before? Who the F*** are you? You followed the police around and bribed them to send you pictures of our release papers so that you can look like you had anything to do with the release. See your head? Na pit latrine dey inside not brain.”
Ms. Tems wrote
Ms. Tems continues to blow hot by threatening Bebe Cool. She warns the Ugandan artiste not to show his face anywhere in Nigeria as she will not resist pouncing on him if she comes in contact with him.
“@BebeCoolUG I swear AVOID Nigeria for the rest of your life. If you ever find out I’m in the same place as you, RUN for your life because I will not be in chains. And nothing will stop me from pouncing on you.” she wrote.
Bebe Cool, however, denied the allegations leveled against him by Ms. Tems. He denied having anything to do with their arrest.
Dear Ms. Tems, easy on the poor guy. You went to his country to perform at a show when President Museveni has compelled all Ugandan artists to suspend any show so as to contain the spread of coronavirus.
Kindly focus, dear Ms. Tems on doling out good music to your fans and let Bebe be.
We at Akatarian are happy to have you back home and wish you all the best.
