Ikorodu Boiz, a three-man team comedy skits group caught the attention of popular American TV show host and celebrity, Steve Harvey.
Steve hosted the crew in a virtual interview and shared it on his Facebook watch account a few days ago.
They are known for recreating big-budget movies with no budget at all. Ikorodu Boiz told Harvey in the interview that they never had any formal training in movie production.
But they got their training from watching behind the scenes of Hollywood and Bollywood movies, according to Babatunde, the eldest of the three brothers.
The brothers told Steve in the interview that it took them a month to recreate the movie. And the trailer took them 24 days to shoot before editing.
In the interview, Harvey also showed the brothers a video by a popular Hollywood actor, Jack Black, who loved their trailer and gave them a thumbs up.
Harvey told the boys to recreate his TV show “Family Feud”. He asked Malik, the youngest of the brothers to play him.
Expressing appreciation for their act, Harvey said, “…people like you are hidden treasures just like diamonds, cos people don’t know about it.”
In admonition, he said, “keep the faith, keep praying, stay close to your family, honor your parents, and see what happens.”
On where they get their props, the brothers said they source props from around their environment and the market.
Babatunde edits their movies while his other brothers, Muiz (15) and Malik (10) are the actors.
The Netflix movie “Extraction” is the crew’s biggest recreation. The short movie caught the attention of the producers Russo Brothers as well as Chris Hemsworth, one of the movie actors. The video got the brothers an invite to the premiere of “Extraction 2” by the Russo brothers via a tweet.
“This is awesome! We would love to have you guys at the “Extraction 2″ premiere… DM us and we’ll get you there!”
Chris Hemsworth also tweeted “EPIC” after watching the video they recreated and tweeted on their page, asking their over 600,000 followers to keep retweeting till it gets to the producers of the movie “Extraction”.
